Smart Learning Path (thesmartlearningpath.com) publishes free Spanish practice for English-speaking adult beginners. This policy explains how that material is produced. It covers the lessons, the blog guides, the three free resources and the pages that compare learning formats or describe our planned paid options.

How lessons and guides are written.

Pages are written by the Smart Learning Path editorial team. We do not credit named authors, teachers or coaches, because we do not have verified profiles to show. Drafting may use AI writing tools; nothing is published without an editor reading and revising it.

Every page should teach something usable: a few phrases with their English meaning, a short dialogue or task, and a prompt to recall it later. Dialogues are original practice examples, not recorded conversations, and they do not show any learner’s results.

How we check the Spanish.

Every Spanish phrase is checked by our editors before publishing: spelling, accents, opening marks (¿ ¡) and the English meaning. We check phrases against our free resources, so a phrase means the same thing everywhere on the site, and against reference sources such as the dictionaries and usage guidance of the Real Academia Española (RAE). We keep to beginner-level, neutral international Spanish and say so when a word differs by country.

We explain register where it matters. For example:

Example · a polite request

¿Puede repetir, por favor?

Can you repeat, please? Puede is polite singular (usted). By contrast, ¿Cómo te llamas? uses familiar singular te.

There has been no independent teacher review of our material yet. Article pages say so in their review status. If that changes, we will name the reviewer’s role and the review date on the page, and only then.

Self-checks support practice; they are not fluency or proficiency tests, and nothing on the site leads to an accredited qualification.

How comparisons are researched.

We have not hands-on tested any app, course or tutoring service. Our comparison pages are frameworks to help you decide what to check, not reviews. They contain no scores, ratings, rankings or winners.

When we state a fact about another product, such as what its free version includes, we take it only from that provider’s own public pages, link to the page and give the date we retrieved it. Prices and features change, so check the provider’s page before you decide. We do not invent statistics, research findings or testimonials.

Our commercial interest.

We have no affiliate links, sponsors or paid placements today, and we earn nothing when you use a product we mention. If that ever changes, the incentive will be disclosed next to the recommendation.

We do plan our own paid options: a Spanish Starter Toolkit, a Four-Week Conversation Course and a Practice Membership. None is available yet, and each is labelled “planned” wherever it appears. Because we would benefit if you chose them later, we have a commercial interest wherever we compare them with other ways to learn, and those pages carry a disclosure. Our free resources stay useful on their own.

Corrections.

If you notice a possible mistake in our Spanish or in a fact, please contact us and choose the topic “A Spanish correction”. Include the page link, the wording and your suggested correction or source. An editor checks each report against our reference sources. If we were wrong, we fix the page and update its date. We reply by email but cannot promise a reply time.

Updates.

We revisit pages when a phrase, resource or third-party fact changes. A page shows a new “Updated” date only when its content has actually been checked or changed. This policy may also change; the date at the top shows the latest version.
